(prev ranking in parenthesis)
(1) Packers (6-1, 1st Place NFC North) - nothing better than a Bears-Packers early November showdown. And both teams are coming off bye weeks so will be hungry to see the field again. Next Matchup: CHI
(2) 2. Texans (6-2, 1st Place AFC South) - held off division rival Titans last week, and will need a similar showing this week against another team that won't quit despite injury troubles. Next Matchup: IND
(3) 3. Bears (6-1, 2nd Place NFC North) - Well rested and ready to show the league that the Bears are the real deal, they have a great stage for it this week with a rematch of the NFC Championship. Next Matchup: GB
(6) 4. Panthers (7-1, 1st Place NFC South) - they provided themselves with some much needed breathing room as this team tries to get itself healthy. Despite it all, they are the NFL's first 7 win team after beating a hot Saints team who was sniffing upset. Their bye week comes at a good time. Next Matchup: BYE
(4) 5. Patriots (6-1, 1st Place AFC East) - It wasn't the numbers that Brady and company are used to, but it got the job done. This week a demoralized Dolphins bunch comes to town with the hopes of shocking the world, so the Pats can't let down. MIA
(7) 6. Ravens (6-1, 1st Place AFC North) - no one said it had to be pretty. In a great come from behind win this week in the huge Steeler-Raven rivalry gain, this team might still be celebrating. Unfortunately they won't be able to party long because they have to get ready for a solid Bengals squad. Next Matchup: CIN
(5) 7. Steelers (6-2, 2nd Place AFC North) - what a shootout it was vs. the Ravens. They came up just shy and have given back the division lead for the moment, but this team appears to be starting to hit its stride at the right time. Next Matchup: CLE
(8) 8. Chargers (5-2, 1st Place AFC West) - they took care of business over the Chiefs, and now need to do the same against Denver. They've put themselves in a good position. Next Matchup: DEN
(7) 9. Bengals (5-2, 3rd Place AFC North) - they were happy to see a big performance coming out of the bye week, because it gives them some momentum headed into a very big game vs. the now division leading Ravens. Next Matchup: BAL
(9) 10. Lions (6-2, 3rd Place NFC North) - this team did what it needed to do and put together a good week vs. Minnesota headed into their bye. They get some much needed rest and have to be happy with where they are in the NFC North race with the Bears and Pack. Next Matchup: BYE
(12) 11. Buccaneers (4-3, 2nd Place NFC South) - coming off their bye, this good team is set to try and get even better in a tight division. They match up with a Titans team that seems to find ways to win. Next Matchup: TEN
(14) 12. Falcons (4-3, 3rd Place NFC South) - this team tried to get healthy this week, and we'll see if they did because there won't be any shortcuts to be had in somewhat of a must-win game in the NFC South against the Saints. Next Matchup: NO
(11) 13. Saints (4-4, 4th Place NFC South) - they weren't at all happy with their performance in their biggest game of the season vs. the Panthers, and it doesn't get any easier this week against Atlanta. They will need a bounceback performance as the loser of this game will be on the verge of having their season ended. Next Matchup: ATL
(18) 14. Colts (5-3, 2nd Place AFC South) - in a sloppy game, the Colts came up the better team and put themselves into second and still only a game behind the Texans who seem head and shoulders better. Who would've thunk this team would have 5 wins? If they beat the Texans again, we might be looking at a potential division winner? Next Matchup: HOU
(13) 15. Jaguars (5-3, 3rd Place AFC South) - their (lack of) QB play hurt them last week in a game they should have won. They have an extra week to think about it with their bye week coming up, but it also helps them get things organized again. Next Matchup: BYE
(15) 16. Titans (4-3, 3rd Place AFC South) - they didn't do what they set out to do last week and came up far short of their target. But they don't have time to feel sorry for themselves because they have a very similar tough matchup this week against the Bucs. Next Matchup: TB
(16) 17. Giants (4-3, 1st in NFC East) - the G Men took care of business vs the Cowboys last week to put themselves into the driver's seat in the NFC East. But with the way the Eagles played last week, you know the Giants are looking over their shoulders. Luckily they won't have to do much this week vs. the Skins. Next Matchup: WAS
(19) 18. Eagles (3-4, 3rd Place NFC East) - kind of a forgotten team, the Eagles bounced back again and have put themselves back squarely in the division race. Another win this week vs. a Dallas team trying to find itself after last week would go a long way. Next Matchup: DAL
(17) 19. Cowboys (3-4, 2nd in NFC East) - they had a disappointing week vs the Giants last week, and it sure doesn't get any easier against an Eagles team that came back to life last week. Next Matchup: PHI
(20) 20. Cardinals (3-4, 1st Place NFC West) - they didn't do anything too flashy this week, but it was enough to win their battle vs. the niners and move themselves into 1st place in the NFC West. You could have worse weeks than that. A win vs. another division opponent in the rams would put them even more into the top spot of their division. Next Matchup: SF
(24) 21. Dolphins (3-4, 2nd Place AFC East)
(28) 22. Seahawks (3-4, 3rd place NFC West)
(21) 23. Jets (2-5, 3rd Place AFC East)
(22) 24. Vikings (1-7, 4th Place NFC North)
(23) 25. Rams (2-4, 1st Place NFC West)
(25) 26. Browns (2-5, 4th Place AFC North)
(26) 27. 49ers (1-6, 4th place AFC West)
(27) 28. Redskins (1-6, 4th place NFC East)
(29) 29. Chiefs (1-6, 2nd place AFC West)
(32) 30. Raiders (1-6, 3rd place AFC West)
(30) 31. Bills (0-7, 4th place AFC East)
(31) 32. Broncos (1-6, 4th place AFC West)
