I have nothing better to do at 1:46 AM, so I figured I'd do some power rankings. Would be good to hear your opinions on them in the comments.
1. Carolina Panthers - Call me bias, but I think I have brought this team from worst to first. The team has a great young QB, 2 good RB, a ton of WR and TE depth and a very solid defense.
2. Houston Texans - This team is also pretty deep and strong everywhere. They have a good QB, and are not particularly weak in any area.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers - Team was stacked to begin with, and like the 2 teams before them, this team is very balanced.
4. Atlanta Falcons - Another very balanced team. Could be the most dangerous team in the league because of Mike Vick alone, then you add the upside of McFadden, Rody, TGonzalez, and a solid defense.
5. Dallas Cowboys - This team hasn't made a move yet, but their real life team offers several players with high fantasy upside.
6. Green Bay Packers - Another team that hasn't made a single move, but they are the Super Bowl Champs, and have a very good offense, and great IDP's on Defense.
7. San Diego Chargers - This team is very good offensively, but could struggle defensively. They are also relying on Cedric Benson to carry them at RB, but their QB and WR situations are definitely figured out.
8. New England Patriots - Haven't made a single move, but other than at RB, this team is stacked. Won't benefit from starting out from a team that doesn't run the ball though.
9. New Orleans Saints - Solid team with Brees and Jackson, but might struggle at WR without Colston. Upside on this team is looking good however.
10. Detroit Lions - Solid at every position, although not spectacular. The upside of this team is big though, with Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Best - this team should be good for years.
11. Chicago Bears - Solid team with upside if Cutler can improve from last year, and Forte can go back to his 2009 ways. Mathews was also a solid pickup and he has good upside. This Defense is also very good.
12. New York Giants - Eli, Bradshaw, Jacobs, Nicks, Great Defense. This team should be verry solid this year.
13. Minnesota Vikings - McNabb could be in for a comeback year, and Peterson is a beast, while this team is very good on the defensive side of the ball.
14. Philadelphia Eagles - Made some moves that could help them in the long term, but definitely won't in the short term barring injury. They got rid of Vick and Desean, but this team still should be a little above average.
15. St. Louis Rams - This team has done very well so far, adding Ingram, but I'm afraid their GM may be a little too confident . Still should be good enough to win their division.
16. Baltimore Ravens - This team has some depth issues offensively, but their core on offense and defense is very solid. Unless they make some moves though, the team could just be average.
17. New York Jets - A good team, but they have some question marks at QB and even RB, although overall both positions should be solid with potential to be good. A very good defense however gives this team a shot at the division.
18. Indianapolis Colts - This team has flown under the radar so fat, making few moves, and the stock is down on them with Manning being hurt. In the end I'm sure he'll be fine and the Colts will be solid as usual.
19. Tennessee Titans - Good team now with Freeman, Blount and DeSean, but not a spectacular team. I like the moves, and I think this team has a real shot at a wild card spot.
20. Jacksonville Jaguars - A decent team, with Cassel, MJD, and Suh. This team has room for improvement though, with a weak receiving core.
21. Denver Broncos - As of right now, this team is still pretty decent with Orton, Lloyd, and Moreno, but I'm not sure if they are quite good enough to be more than a playoff contender.
22. Kansas City Chiefs - Another decent, but not spectacular. Charles should be great again, Bowe will be good, but this team could be without a starting QB.
23. San Francisco 49ers - Would be a good team if their QB position wasn't a joke. They have good skill players with Gore, Edward, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, and the beast of Patrick Willis on defense.
24. Seattle Seahawks - Another decent team with a weakness at QB. The FA moves the Seahawks made were very good for this teams fantasy potential.
25. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - This team added a stud RB in CJ- no play, but they dealt their young stud QB, and made what in my opinion was a very questionable deal by dealing Mike Williams.
26. Buffalo Bills - Team wasn't great to start with and the Bills have done a good job adding talent to it. They have a few great IDP'ers, and should be decent offensively.
27. Arizona Cardinals - The team may not have a good QB, if one at all with Clausen, but DeAngelo and Fitzgerald are pretty close to sure things. This team would be higher if they had a QB.
28. Miami Dolphins - The team has some upside with Bush and Daniel Thomas at RB, but I don't think Henne has much talent whatsoever.
29. Cleveland Browns - Not an awful team, with mr. madden cover, and McCoy, but the team doesn't have anything special.
30. Oakland Raiders - This team would probably rank higher if they just dealt Cambell for a RB, but as of now, Mike Goodson is their number 1 RB. Cam Newton should be a good franchise player however.
31. Cincinnati Bengals - This team decided to go for Defense, but seems to have a basically depleted offense. Balance and depth is what I was looking for, and this team doesn't have much of that on the offensive end.
32. Washington Redskins - This team might not play like the worst team in the league, but on paper, this team is god awful. Rex Grossman and whoever as their RB doesn't sound too sexy, and this team gets the honors of worst in the first power rankings.
Hope you guys enjoy these rankings. I hope I don't make too many people mad!
