Free Agency Notes & Rules
*Pulled from league rules on April 4, 2012
In order to win a player, no bid must have beaten out the highest bid within 24 hours. 24 hours must pass without a bid higher then the last bid for said player. There will be $100k increments for $5M or less bids, $250k from $5M-$10M bids, and then $500k for $10M or more bids.
Upon winning a player, you can make the deal back-end heavy so that the later years are more than the early years. Each year must at least stay the same or go up. The contract can also not increase by more than 100% in a given season. For example, if the player is to make $5M in 2011/2012 based on the contract you are signing him to, his contract cannot be MORE than $10M in 2012/2013.
If you are only offering a 1 year deal, there is a maximum figure you can go and that is $15M. In other words, if you are to offer a Free Agent a contract worth more then an AAS of $18M, you must bid more then 1 year
FREE AGENT SALARY STRUCTURE
We're going to do this:
During no year of a player's contract can he be getting less than half of what the AAS offer was at the time of the NoFunLeague signing.
For example, if you sign a guy for $10M, you cannot offer to pay him less than $5M in any season.
RELEASE PENALTY (prior to this was only 50% of the current year's obligation)
To discourage against signing a guy for a big contract and releasing him, the following rule applies for players you release:
If a player is signed to an AAS greater $15M, you are obligated to pay him 50% of his AAS salary for the season you drop him in AND the following season
