Players with a * next to their name are on the Titans trading block and available for trade if you make me an offer that I like. If I have too many players on my roster or I am low on cap space I am open to releasing players with a ** next to their name. I am also open to trading a player with a ** next to their name.
Offense
Quarterbacks
Matt Hasselbeck QB signed 3 year 21 million dollar deal with Titans. Hasselbeck should get 7 Million a year for 3 years. Hasselbeck's deal is up in 2014.
Jake Locker QB 2011 1st round pick agreed to 4 year 12 million dollar deal with 5th year option that allows him to make 12 million a year. Locker's deal is up in 2015, but he has an option to renew his deal until 2016.
*Rusty Smith QB 405,000 in 2011-2012, 490,000 in 2012-2013, and 575,000 in 2013-2014.
Quarterback Summary: Hasselbeck is our starter for the present while Locker is the quarterback for the future. Rusty Smith was a raw project with immense potential coming out of Florida Atlantic. Smith failed to win the starting job as a rookie and threw 5 interceptions against an abysmal Texans secondary that was one of the worst in the league last season.
Running backs
*Chris Johnson RB 800,000 in 2011-2012 and 2,210,000 in 2012-2013. Johnson's contract is up in 2013.
Javon Ringer RB 480 K in 2011-2012 and 565,000 in 2012-2013. Ringer's deal is also up in 2013.
Jamie Harper RB 2011 4th round pick signed to undisclosed deal
**Stephan Johnson RB 330,000 is an RFA after this year.
Running Back Summary: Does Chris Johnson deserve more money? Absolutely. Do I look foolish for considering trading a blue chip back like Chris Johnson? Probably. I loved Javon Ringer as a #1 running back since he came out of Michigan State and believe he could be an NFL starter.
I also believe Jamie Harper can be a #2 back over time, but is best suited as a #3 back at this point.
I probably won't tender Stefan Johnson as an RFA because he was never the same after his Weight Room Accident. Don't get me wrong Johnson has great potential as a #3 back for depth, but he hasn't been the same player since that injury.
If you want Chris Johnson feel free to submit me an offer. There are two conditions that I request you follow before making the offer. You always have the option of denying my trade requests. I will respect the decision your team chooses to make. There is a good chance I will decline your trade proposal if you do not follow through with my two requests.
Request A. The offer has to be made before Johnson's contract gets renegotiated otherwise I'll take Johnson off the trading block once his holdout dispute ends.
Request B. The offer has to wow me. I'm not trading a blue chip rusher and top 5 running back like Chris Johnson away unless I know I am getting premium value in return beforehand. Johnson is one of the best backs in the league and his value is at an all time high right now.
Wide Receivers
Kenny Britt WR 575,000 in 2011-2012, 755,000 in 2012-2013, and 1,122,500 in 2013-2014. Britt's contract is up in 2014.
Nate Washington WR 3,300,000 in 2011-2012, 3,400,000 in 2012-2013, 4,200,000 in 2014-2015, and 4,800,000 in 2015-2016.
**Justin Gage 3.5 Million is a UFA after this season.
WR Damian Williams 405,000 in 2011-2012, 490,000 in 2012-2013, and 575,000 in 2013-2014. Williams is a free agent in 2014.
WR Lavelle Hawkins 555,000 is a UFA after this season.
WR Marc Mariani 405,000 in 2011-2012, 490,000 in 2012-2013, and 575,000 in 2013-2014. Mariani's deal is up in 2014.
Wide Receiver Summary: I wish I had more consistent receivers. Britt is inconsistent, but deadly when he is on the field. I'm paying Nate Washington too much to get rid of him. Justin Gage is a bum with no long term upside or potential and I am not resigning him. In fact if I am currently over 35 players feel free to release Gage to save some cap room.
Damian Williams has the upside and potential of a #1 target while Hawkins has the upside and potential of a #2 option. These receivers are far from reaching their potential at this point, but are quality depth players to the Titans organization. Marc Mariani is another young player who is best suited for special teams at this moment. He has the upside and potential of a slot receiver with his speed.
Tight Ends
Jared Cook Jr. TE 480,000 in 2011-2012 and 565,000 in 2012-2013.
Craig Stevens TE 555,000 UFA after this season.
Tight End Summary: Stevens is on the bubble in Tennessee. We need him for depth, but he started 16 games and had only half the receptions and receiving yards than Jared Cook Jr despite the fact that Jared Cook Jr did not play 16 games. We need the depth at tight end and Stevens is a player with potential that has not lived up to his name coming out of California.

Defensive Ends
Left Ends
William Hayes 555,000 in 2011-2012 is a UFA after this season.
Hall Davis 405,000 in 2011-2012
Right Ends
Derrick Morgan 405,000 in 2011-2012, 725,000 in 2012-2013, 1,045,000 in 2013-2014, 1,365,000 in 2014-2015, and RFA tender option once contract expires in 2015.
Karl Klug 2011 5th round draft pick signs undisclosed contract
Defensive End Summary: Its too early to determine Morgan's future, but at this point were thinking he's better suited as a 4-3 left end. Morgan is a long term starter on the defensive line though. I'm not sold on any of the other defensive lineman being long term starters besides Morgan at this point. Morgan was a 4-3 left end getting by ACC right tackles at Georgia Tech so I'm not fully convinced he can be a 4-3 right end just yet.
Defensive Tackles
Left Defensive Tackles
Jason Jones DT 555,000 in 2011-2012 UFA after this year.
**Jovan Haye DT 3,000,000 in 2011-2012 and 3,700,000 in 2012-2013
**Malcolm Sheppard DT 405,000 in 2011-2012 UFA after this year.
Jurrell Casey 2011 3rd round pick has not signed a deal yet and reported to offseason workouts prior to the draft out of shape. I thought Casey had the potential to be a huge sleeper.
Right Defensive Tackles
Sen Derrick Marks DT 480,000 in 2011-2012 and 565,000 in 2012-2013.
Zach Clayton DT 2011 7th round pick Clayton signed an undisclosed 4 year deal for nearly next to nothing. He's looked so good in Titans training camp so far that there are talks that he will beat out Shaun Smith for the #2 defensive tackle spot on the depth chart.
Shaun Smith DT Signed a 3 year deal with Titans worth 7,250,000. Smith will get 3,250,000 in 2011-2012.
Defensive Tackle Summary: Tennessee has tons of depth at defensive tackle. Odds are we may have to cut a player or two at defensive tackle to make room for the 35 man roster. Feel free to send me a 2012 draft pick for a player at defensive tackle because there is a good chance I'll take the offer.
Linebackers
Left Outside Linebackers
Gerald McRath LOLB 480,000 in 2011-2012 and 565,000 in 2012-2013.
Akeem Ayers LOLB 2011 2nd round pick 4 year deal undisclosed details
Middle Linebacker
Colin McCarthy MLB 2011 4th round pick
Right Outside Linebacker
Will Witherspoon ROLB 2,500,000 in 2011-2012 and 3,500,000 in 2012-2013
Rennie Curran ROLB 405,000 in 2011-2012, 490,000 in 2012-2013, and 575,000 in 2013-2014.
Linebacker Summary: Tennessee is stacked with young linebackers. Were comfortable where we stand with our linebackers.
Secondary
Cornerbacks
*Cortland Finnegan CB 3,293,000 in 2011-2012 has an expiring contract after this season.
Alterraun Verner CB 405,000 in 2011-2012, 490,000 in 2012-2013, and 575,000 in 2013-2014. Verner will be a free agent in 2014.
Jason McCourty CB 480,000 in 2011-2012, 565,000 in 2012-2013, and a UFA in 2013-2014.
Strong Safety
Chris Hope SS 6,500,000 in 2011-2012 is a UFA after this season.
Free Safety
Michael Griffin FS 3,310,500 in 2011-2012.
Secondary Summary: I love this Titans secondary. I may try to deal for Finnegan near the trade deadline since he is in a contract year. I want to see how Finnegan does these first few games before I make a rash decision. Finnigan is a #1 corner, but I have 2 other corners. Plus Finnigan is in a contract year while Chris Johnson isn't so that is another thing that lowers Cortland's trade value to a certain degree.

Special Teams

I currently have 38 players on my roster and I have to cut 3 players to narrow my roster down to 35 players. I'm going to cut wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, defensive tackle Jovan Haye, and running back Stefan Johnson to save some cap room.
I will cut Justin Gage if the league gives me permission to pursue Braylon Edwards via Free Agency.
