Currently our leagues uses a defensive lineup such as:
While this is definitely satisfactory, I was wondering how everyone felt about shifting it to something such as:
Defense (8): *2 DL *2 LB *2 DB *2 IDP (DL/LB/DB)
The reasons I think a lineup like this would be beneficial to GM's in the league because it would enable much more defensive flexibility. GM's could have the option of going with:
1) Essentially a DB heavy nickel package (2DL, 2LB, 4DB) 2) A LB heavy 3-4 type of lineup (2DL, 4LB, 2DB) 3) A DL heavy pass rush, run stuff 4-3 style (4 DL, 2LB, 2DB) 4) Or a variety of balanced variations of defenses (2DL, 3LB, 3DB), (3DL, 3LB, 2DB), (3DL, 2LB, 3DB)
The lineup highlighted in bold are ones that GM's are not able to use with the current setup. For all intensive purposes, the way our current defensive lineups are built GM's have 3 different options of defenses they can put on a field; with the proposed change that number would DOUBLE, allowing GM's six options for defensive lineups. With the Flex position on the offensive side, it allows for maximum lineup customization - so I think this would be awesome as well.
Just looking to get everyone's opinions and maybe get something like this installed for the 2012 season. Don't see why anyone would be agains it so let's hear!
Just trying to get some action in here during the offseason!

I love the FLEXibility. I always prefer this cause it gives you the formation options a real coach would have
Thumbs up.
