Also how are you allowed to trade picks if they are linked to wether or not you get to sign a restricted free agent...

You can sign a restricted player that would have cost you whatever pick you have traded. Trading of picks in a league like this is an obvious must IMO Nate

Trading of picks in a league like this is an obvious must IMO Nate I think Nate meant to say is you can't sign a restricted player that would in example cost the Rams a 3rd pick next year. I 2nd Nate's talk about trading draft pick is a must in this type of league!

Usually its not a must. Especially if you plan on having franchise and restricted tags. So say next year, an example, i place a restricted tag on Arian Foster and some fool wants to pay him 70M a year. I decide I just cant do that, so per the rules I should get his 1st rd pick. What if he has traded all of his picks already? Then what? You really cant have both restricted tags and trading of picks. I think the restricted tags are more important than trading of picks. Especially if the stupid cap is gonna be voted to 100M.

As previously stated you have to be able to trade draft picks in a league like this. its simple...IF the team doesn't have the draft picks to bid on certain guys, then thats just 1 other team u wont have to worry bout giving Foster $70 Mil since their bids should be illegal. If it's in the rules that we get draft picks for losing Rfa's thennn thats the "risk" we r taking by trading the picks

To some extent it is up to the GM to plan for it.
My thoughts on the options - we make it so if you've traded away your pick that you must give the team cash considerations - we make it so if you've traded away your pick that is to be given as compensation, you must give up a better pick (so if your compensation was to be a rd 2 pick and you don't have one, you must give up rd 1) [we would have to make a rule not allowing someone to trade away all their draft picks] - we make it so that you are unable to sign the player you placed the restricted tag on; since you should know

Ya if they don't have the pick to give up then they just can't win that Rfa

Well , some of the reason's Brian didnt want to do IDPs was to keep it simple.. now adding all these stipulations to this league. Not so simple anymore. Then maybe we should just get rid of the restricted tag and just make it two franchise tags. I would much rather see that if we are gonna be trading picks.

When IDPs came into the picture, "simple" went out the window but it seemed unanimous that people were in favor of that. The rules will inevitably be complex now.
Have to think this one over a bit more. I can see the argument for just making it 2 Franchise Tags as well and will take that into consideration

That would certainly make it easier. I'd Agree with doin it that way

Just go with 2 franchise tags. Guys if we make this so complex then new owners are gonna have a hard time figuring it out. SIMPLE is better I think.

Dont get me wrong.. I love trading picks but having to watch who you bid on cause they might be restricted is just a lot.. or having to go back and void a bid cause they dont have picks.. just too much.. say.. just trade your picks and just add the extra franchise tag... they may end up being more than fantasy bids though. Especially the way they are throwing around money.. but we cant just cut guys and face no penalties unlike the real teams. LOL

I think it's very important to try and keep things as simple as possible for a league this size. If you add the 2nd Tag and keep draft picks then we won't run into issues down the road.
I vote to have draft picks and add the 2nd Tag eliminating the restricted Tag.
